You must turn off User Access Control (UAC) for the installation. That can be done as follows:
- From the “Start” menu (in the lower-left-hand corner of your screen), select either “Settings” then “Control Panel” if you use the Windows Classic view or “Control Panel” if you use the Windows default view. Make sure the Control Panel Window is in “Classic View”, then double-click on the “User Accounts” icon. show me
- In the User Accounts Window, click on “Turn User Account Control on or off” show me
- In the User Account Control window, UN-CHECK the checkbox labeled “Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer” then press the “OK” button. show me
- Re-start your computer to put the new UAC setting into effect.
Then download and install eTakeoff.
Note: When the installation is complete, you should turn UAC back on. Follow the same steps above but this time CHECK the checkbox labeled “Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer”. If you leave UAC off, you will be prompted to turn it on the next time you restart your computer.
