Mechanical

The key to building any type of project is having the right tools. It’s no different for taking off a mechanical project. With eTakeoff Dimension’s tool kit, you can feel confident at the end of the bid that you have the correct quantities. With the extension tool, you can build your own assemblies that calculate the elbows, reducers and tees at the same time you measure the pipe or duct. The process I is accelerated with the Pattern Search tool which is used to find multiple occurrences of symbols like dampers, registers and air handlers that need to be counted with speed and accuracy.

Calculate the area of a rectangular reducer

A simple extension calculates the surface area of a rectangular duct reducer. The length of reducer is digitized on the drawing. The height and width at each end is entered. The square foot surface area of the reducer is calculated. The description for the measurement is automatically updated to reflect the size.

Wire runs with individual riser lengths

For wire runs with differing drop lengths, the Riser extension can be used. This allows you to enter the drop length for each point. The lengths are displayed on the drawing. The variable LenWithRisers gives the total of the digitized length plus the riser lengths.

Testimonials

Paul Hammell, Elite Mechanical, Bristol CN

“eTakeoff is my first choice to use as an on-screen takeoff tool. The other products I’ve tried are cumbersome to use and don’t have nearly the number of powerful features and flexibility eTakeoff offers. All of that PLUS excellent customer service!”
