Q: How do I configure Construction Data Company to interface with eTakeoff?
A:Once your plans subscription is activated, you will see the plans icons in Lead Manager. Click on any blue icon and scroll to the bottom of that page and click on the eTakeoff link to download the eTakeoff Plan Viewer.
Q: How do I view Construction Data Company plans in eTakeoff?
A: First you must download and install eTakeoff as described in the previous question. Then do the following:
- Click on the blue Plans Available icon displayed next to your project of interest.

- A new page will display with all the associated plans/specs/addenda and any other related documents. Make sure “Open Plans/Specs with eTakeoff” is selected.

- Click on your drawings of interest and eTakeoff will automatically launch and display the drawing.
Q: How can I view different plans without going back to the Construction Data Company plan page?
A: eTakeoff keeps a list of all the plans in the project. To view another plan, do the following: ![]()
- Note that the name of the current plan is displayed in the Project Toolbar.
- Press the down-arrow button to the right of the name to display a list of the other plans.
- If needed, you can drag the edge of the last to make it larger or smaller.
- Click on the plan you wish to view.
- eTakeoff will download the plan (if necessary) and display it.
Q: How do I create an eTakeoff project for a Construction Data Company project?
A: First you must view one of the plans for the project as described above. Then do the following:
- Select “File/Save” from the main menu (or press the “Save” button on the main toolbar).
- The “New Project Information” window will be displayed.
- Press the “Browse” button to create a new folder for the project.
- Complete the other project information and press the “Next” button.
- The Drawing Information window will be displayed.
You can put the drawing directly in the project folder or in a sub-folder within the project folder.
Note: If you check the box to automatically save all project files, any files you view from the internet will automatically become part of the project and be saved in the project folder or a sub-folder.
